High everyone! I have had a busy few weeks since Ive got rid of my back brace. Ive been having daily physio and regular swimming to regain movement in my back. the main priority now is getting strength back again as the time spent not being able to move it and exercise has meant most of it has been lost. Ive been back at work for over 4 weeks now and do most things trouble free. I have been back in full training for 2weeks now and this has shown how much fitness and strength i have lost. But i am confident with lots of hard training i can get back to full fitness ready for a successful 2010 campaign.
Ive been back on the bike twice now and I'm slowly rebuilding speed and confidence. The first time i just went out for a slow ride to check it felt OK. I was pleasantly surprised to find no real pain in my back although i felt it the next day! My second time back on the bike was yesterday when i went out to rogershill raceway mx practise track which was open for practise. Despite all the recent rain the track was in near perfect condition and i really enjoyed it. I was able to put in some good steady laps on the mx track without any back pain although i was struggling a little with my thumb that i also injured in Slovakia. I got faster during the day and hopefully with a few more outings i will be able to move on the bike quicker and put in some quick times.

Ive recently received news regarding my back injury. Last week i was allowed to remove my brace and begin physio. i have had daily physio and swimming since then. Obviously having not being able to move my back for 11 weeks has not done much for my back muscles. But slowly i can feel it getting better but it will be a long process to regain mobility and strength. once it is strong enough i will be back in training for the 2010 season. having missed the end of the 09 season and the ISDE in Portugal i am even more determined to come back stronger and have a successfull season! I will once again be focusing on the British enduro championship and aim to at least break the top 15 of the championship class. Another series i will be concentrating on will be the new British sprint enduro championship. This is a really exciting new series which receives alot of press coverage. Here is a video preview http://vimeo.com/7286745 these sprint events based on special tests will be great practice for the European championship which i will once again be competing in if financially possible. I aim to finish in the top 10 junior riders in the rounds i ride.
I am currently looking for sponsorship towards my 2010 campaign. If you think you can help please visit my sponsors page.
On August 14th whilst setting up my gasgas for the Slovakian round of the European enduro championship I had a big crash causing a double fracture to the thoracic vertebrae in my back. I spent 5 days in a Slovakian hospital but luckily I had the company of my dad and also the other British riders. I was then transferred back to England and spent over a week in Dorchester hospital on bedrest. I’ve now been fitted with a brace which has allowed me to go home and walk about. Im obviously gutted to have been ruled out for the rest of the season and especially the isde. I’m looking forward to getting back on a bike and preparing for next season but in the mean time im hoping to get out and watch as many races as possible and hopefully still go and support the brits in Portugal for the isde. Me and my family would like to thank everyone who was at the event, the acu, all my sponsors and everyone who has visited, sent messages or helped in any way.
Thanks

Bradley King's report
Gbxc round 3 was held in north wales at the weekend with me hoping to improve on my performance from round 2. the track presented more of a challenge than rd2 although very motox'y the rough bumpy hills and rocks meant that line choice and fitness would come into play.
I got of to bad start but gained some places on the first lap and was in the top 10 after a few laps. I caught up to my gguk teammate Luke Meredeth and was also racing with Gav houson. after a couple of laps i felt that i could up the pace and catch the next group in front. I went for the pass on Luke only for my front wheel to drop of the edge of a bank and i had a big over the bars crash. This knocked me and the bike about abit and i rode the next lap and a half without the use of the clutch having knocked it down on the bars. I pitted and refuelled and fixed my clutch in the process but struggled to get back into the race until the last 2 laps. on the last lap i managed to catch and overtake Andrew Edwards and Tim forman as well as the unlucky gav houson who had run out of fuel. this put me 9Th in the pro open class and 14Th overall nearly getting Luke at the finish. I was abit disappointed at the finish because i felt that if it wasn't for the silly crash i could have made the top 10 overall but pleased with my recovery in the last 2 laps.
May will be a busy month for me with the brecfa enduro and rd2 of the European enduo champs in Hungary.

. but my times weren't far of the top 20 and at the start of lap two i was 17th in the extreme test even after not making the first hill and having to get of and push so i was hoping to sneak into the points. On the penultimate check i got stuck on two hills. On the check i came to a long hill and took what looked like a good line only to get stuck in some big rocks at the top having to lift and push the bike up to the top. knowing i was behind i went flat out down the road and straight into cross test 1 only to mess up a short grassy climb and again push to the top. i came into the check a minute late. knowing a few others had lost time i pushed on only to come down a hill on the last check too fast and didn't see abit of fence wire which worked its way round my back wheel and stopped me dead. i couldn't get it untangled so had rip the fence apart to get going again
The time lost with that and once again messing up a cross test hill meant i dropped a further 2 minutes. disappointingly this meant i finished 22nd in class just missing the points. but i was pleased to have finished probably the hardest event Ive done apart from the wec in wales last year. i learnt loads during the weekend and was defo better at riding the rocks at the end of the weekend. i need to work on my grass tests, hill climbing and rocks so i will be kept busy till rd2 in Hungary at the end of may!!lots of pics on http://www.martinpichl.com/upload/obrazky/free_galerie/web_mec_france_sobota/index.htm and http://www.toolenduro.com/Media/photos/2009/galerie_riom/

I made my first outing on the championship class of the british championship at the muntjac enduro. The event is always a tough start to the bec season with 3 special tests and 6 laps of the single time check. after spending the last few weeks preparing with the rest of the gasgas uk team i was hoping for a good result to kickstart my season.
The first 2 laps had slack check times so the priority was to put in 2 fast special test times. unfortunately i managed to make a mess of my first test. i had a small crash on the slippery test and eager to make up time i had another crash further into the test on a high speed straight losing more time. By the time we had arrived at the test second time round it had changed alot with bumps, ruts and berms appearing. My time was slightly better on lap2 but i think i took it to cautious after the mistakes of lap1. the last lap wasnt till after lap6 with the check times getting tighter each lap. i comfortably stayed on time till the last lap when i dropped 5 minutes. With blisters soaking my now wrecked gloves i pushed hard but i was a few minutes down on what i had hoped for but pleased to finish ok and learn alot in my 1st championship class outing having David Knight and Euan MCconnell catching and overtaking me on the going showd how the quicker more experienced riders attacked the checks.
Id like to thank everyone who has helped me out before and during the event especially the gasgas uk team, steve plain, rob sartin, john shirt, my mum dad and sister zoe plus my uncle tony for "kingsportin" my bike and danielle hall for my pyhsio.

After two full weekends of training, practice and bike setup with the rest of the gguk team i entered the ardua enduro at the bagshot training area hoping to get more preperation towards the 1st round of the bec - the muntjac enduro - The week long snowy weather certanly played its part on the track with most of it being deep ruts or slippery hills and some dodgy icey tracks. I actually nearly decided not to ride when we arrived with car park completly white with snow and inch thick ice. after a quick walk of the special test i decided to ride with 90% of the track in the trees i would provide good practice and a test of my fitness although i took it steady on the open icey sections.
The test was timed on laps 1 and 2 after that we had six laps which got tighter each lap with the last 3 going 24,23,22 minutes. My first test i took steady and was 3rd fastest behind leader daryl bolter and 2 seconds behind darren wheeler who was riding well on his new yamaha. i upped my pace on the next test and was 2nd on lap 2. daryl was once again very fast but i managed to pull 2 seconds back on darren in the short rutty test.
The next 3laps were slack but still challenging with the track getting tougher by the lap and many clubman and sportman riders stuck round the track. The last 3 laps would decide the full results and i managed to come in with 30 secs to spare on the 24 min lap still taking it steady on the worst icey sections. i upped the pace on the penultimate lap and was racing behind rich warner but lost ground when i made a mistakes on a hill and had to make a second attempt. i came in to the check just after my minute had finished therefore losing 1 minutes penalty. i pushed hard to regain time and had nearly cought up behind rich only to have a big crash and land in a big muddy puddle!! I ended up losing another 3 minutes with a total of 4 minutes i think i ended up 4th in the championship class.
although dissapointed with the result im happy with my 09 gasgas ec 250 and my fitness as i still felt strong at the end of a hard 4.5 hour event

I am pleased to announce that TEAM GAS GAS UK will return to British Championship Enduro next year! We have a new Team in place which is to be managed by the well known and respected Enduro expert MR. STEVE PLAIN. Steve's knowledge of the Sport is second to none and will prove to be a big asset for the riders. Steve will be the new GAS GAS UK Enduro Team Manager and we will have a 4 man Team for all major UK events including all the BEC, GBXC, The Welsh', The Tough One and other various 3 hour races / Cross Country style races.. Steve will be at all these UK events to support the Team etc. The 4 Riders which we have signed for "Team GAS GAS UK" are ASHLEY WOOD, GARETH HOPKINS, BRADLEY KING and LUKE MEREDITH Im sure these four will be a strong force in the paddock next year. Ashley, Gareth and Bradley will all ride in the main Championship Class but capacity class still not known. Ashley has had some good results this year aboard various bikes and his win at the recent Natterjack BEC event resulted in being the No1 rider for GGUK for 2009.Ashley will also ride the European Enduro rounds and selected WEC. Gareth and Brad have battled all year in the Expert Class with both riders and families showing 100% commitment to the Sport which is so needed in Enduro. These two will take the huge step up to the Championship Class for 2009. Luke will stay in the Expert E2 Class because he still has alot to learn in 'Traditional Enduros' and although he is learning fast we feel he is not yet ready for Championship 'check pace' so he will stay in the Experts and will try and win it outright. His pace at the Cross Country events is impressive. We will also support WAYNE BRAYBROOK for the Extreme Events. Wayne needs no introduction at all, his commitment, talent and general work ethic is the bench mark for any young Enduro Rider and will ride as and when his work and family commitments allow him to. At 38 Wayne can still embarrass many young riders and will continue to do so for many years yet ;-) We also intend to continue our support to ROBERT WRAYFORD when he recovers from his 'broken neck'. We also have various GG Dealers supporting their local riders. Steve is pictured with the Factory Gas Gas head R+D guy / 2 Stroke supremo...... 'BONI'. Steve and Boni have a good relationship and this offers a direct link for Steve with the GG Factory for technical support etc. Roll on next year.....;-) Regards John Shirt jnr. GAS GAS MOTOS LTD. |
Race 1. i was about 10th in the large expert pack coming into the first corner but slowly picked off riders as they fell off all around me. i was having some great races with the leading pack but lost alot of time when we cought the many backmarkers in the middle of the race. i gained some time back on the last few laps once i got my head round passing the slower riders and ended the race 4th which i was very happy with. Only the first 5 riders were on the same lap.
Race 2. My start wasent as good this time but i worked my way through quickly i was having a battle with eventuall 2nd place rider Brad Cavill. Until i eventually found some more problems with the backmarkers getting taken out by the same rider twice!! I ended the race 5th and 3rd overall.
I will add all the photos tomorrow to my album.
i would once again like to say thanks to all of my sponsers for there help this year; GAS GAS
The last two rounds of the bec took place on Consecutive weekends. rd4 was a new event - the knighton enduro - in wales run by the central wales auto club. There were two special tests which were both grassy mx style. Day 1 started ok with a good time on the first test. Unfortunatly my day was let down by slow times on both laps of the second test. I ended day 1 5th expert and 4th e2 rider. I started day 2 with another good first test 1/2 a second of the leader. But i then had small crashes in the 3 tests which dropped me to 8th expert and 5th e2. I was dissapointed with my results having struggled to get to grips with the tests all weekend but was hoping to make up for it a the natterjack.
The natterjack has been runing for many years and is organise by team -reme. there was once again to tests. on mx test in a big sand bowl and a long enduro test by the start through the trees. Bad times on the first two tests including a mistake on the mx test put me a long way behind the leaders. I pulled back through the day to finish 4th expert and 3rd e2. day 2 went alot smoother than day 1 and although i only managed 5th expert and 4th e2 i put in better times on the mx test but struggled to ride like my usual self on the enduro test.
I think my results over the last to round have put me down to 4th place in the expert championship and 3rd in the expert e2 points. I may have been higher if not for a rule in the bec where a rider gets to drop his worst two rounds. Next year i will move up to the championship class and will be training hard to do well. i still have 3 more events in the next 3 weekends - weymouth beach mx, weston beach race and then my first european championship event in holland.
i would like to say thanks to all of my sponsers for there help this year; GAS GAS
Id also like to thank; ... My family for all the hard work, money and time they have put in to help me. especially my mum and dad and sister Zoe. Also my uncle tony for Kingsporting my bike.
Rob sartin for all his help and advice with training and my riding.
John shirt for all his help and support this year.
Danny and Danielle hall at rogershill raceway for letting me ride at the track and danielle for giving me physio in the last part of the year to get my shoulder as strong as possible.
The wakely and Padgett familys for all there support.
Steve plain for setting up my suspension.
Everyone who has helped me this year. Whatever it be every thing helps. Everyone who has cheered me on a special test or pointed me a line.
All the organisers and helpers of all the events.
And anyone i have forgot!
The Crycan enduro was the very wet third round of the british enduro championship and day 1 especially proved tough. So much so that only 62 riders finished the first day.
Day 1; On the first special test i managed 2nd place and was 5th on the second lap having got stuck in rut and having to lift the bike out. The second check of each lap got tighter during the day and i knew i would have to push hard to stay on time. unfortunatly i took the wrong line up a hill and got stuck for a few minutes. having been overtaken by a couple of riders i reached the end of the check having lost 10 minutes. When i reached the next check i soon realised that no other expert had stayed on time. the third test had to be cancelled so it could be altered for day 2. i finished day 1 7th expert and 3rd E2 rider.
Day 2; Was the opposite of the first with the results deceided on two altered tests with the check times slack. my first test was hampered by a problem with my back brake i finished 4th on the first test. with the brake fixed i pushed hard to regain time finishing second. this put me 3rd expert for day 2 nad 2nd E2 rider.
Once again i would like to say thanks to all of my sponsers; GAS GAS
i pleased to say that i have now gained the backing of alpinestars boots and im also using MEC plastics courtesy of rush racin
Once again the xmoor club put on another superb event today at bratton court. the flowing track through the woods was awsome and the even sun was out!
i got a average start and was up to 2nd on the first lap when we missed one of the "hard/easy" routes and i found myself back in 5th place. on the second lap i managed to get into 2nd and start catching the leader - steven jewell - i got into the lead on the 3rd lap and pulled a good gap which enabled me to take it steady in the second half of the race. i toke the win and was the only rider to complete 15laps. i was feelin good with my riding and am now looking forward to round 3 of the bec on 2 weeks time.
Once again i would like to say thanks to all of my sponsers; GAS GAS
i pleased to say that i have now gained the backing of alpinestars boots and im also using MEC plastics courtesy of rush racin
Day 1 started with rain and falls on the first 2 tests and then it was onto the tight check. I got stuck twice and struggled in the long ruts and lost 7 minutes. I knew that I could not afford to lose much more time because in wec events anymore than 15 minutes down mean you “time out” and get a dnf. Unfortunately on lap 2 I was to lose another 13 mins and be stopped with my timecard taken away. On the ride back down the road I realised I need to get stronger and practice hard to improve on the welsh checks
Day 2 started with sun and I was hoping for a better day. I put in a good first mx test but crashed on the hill in the enduro test. I managed to stay clean on time on laps 1+2 but messed up the hill in the xtreme test and crashed in the enduro test!!! Unfortunately I lost 5 minutes on the last lap. I used my last reserves of energy for the last 3 tests to finish 24th junior class rider. My next big event is the crycan British round in 3 weeks time so will b hoping to be on it there.
Id like to say thanks and well done to the jones family, wyn Hughes the hafren dirt bike club and everyone else involved with bringin the wec back to “enduros country” with such an awesome event. I certainly hope its not another 9 years before I happens again!!!
Also to everyone cheering me on the tests and everyone who helped me out over the weekend especially my dad, mum and sister zoe. also the wakely’s (good 2 see Si on the podium), John Shirt, Rob Sartin, Stan watt, The Padgett family, Neil Hawker, Steve plain and anyone I have forgot!

This week i competed in my first welsh 2-day enduro after missing last year because of a broken foot. I had been practicing in the weeks leading up to the event especially for the grass tests having not had much experience on the slippery stuff. The event was hit with showers making the tests very splipery and the time checks tough
Day 1 went well having stayed on time i put 2 good test times in and was pleased with how i got on with the test having learned alot from day1 i was looking forward to day2.
The second day started well with a good first test time. The next check proved to be very tight on time with everyone losing time. i lost 10 minutes having made a few to many mistakes and having been overtaken by a couple of championship riders realised i was not quick enough on the long fast bumps and ruts. My second test on day 2 was a disaster having picked up a piece of lose rope in my back wheel losing about 40 seconds. With one tight check still to come i was hoping to gain some time back. i ended up losing a further 9 minutes and having been overtaken by fellow gg rider wayne braybrock and gguk main man john shirt jnr i realized i still have alot of work to do before im upto pace on the tight welsh going.
I ended the weekend 3rd best expert e2 rider and 4th overall expert and having learnt alot i will be out practacing hard in preparation for the world championship in wales on 19th and 20th of july.

I rode 2 events over the bank holiday weekend with GBXC on sunday and XMOOR on monday.
I got a bad start at gbxc and had 2 crashes trying to pass on the first lap of the super fast track. I pushed hard all race but with the track being so fast and the race shortened to only 2hours struggled to make time up and ended a dissapointing 5th placed expert.
Xmoors event was held at the awsome storidge wood with a 20 minute lap all in woodland. i got a reseanable start and managed to work up to second behind Wayne mundell at the end of lap 1. i got into the lead on lap 2 and pulled a gap. at the start of the last lap i had a 4 minute lead but had to make a second stop for feul. At the flag i managed to win by 2 minutes to get my first ever overall win. My next event is the brecfa enduro on the 18th of may.
Thanks to all of my sponsers; GAS GAS UK, TALON, K4OFFROAD, RENTHAL, KRIEGA, SCEC STEVE PLAIN SUSPENSION AND RUSH RACING.

scec's latest event was had at new venue just outside dorchester near hardys monument. there was a good line up with 07 euro champ si wakely, 07 expert bec champ jamie paget and also bec expert riders rich warner and gareth hopkins. the track was all forestry going. scec had a great idea by having championship, expert and clubman in the morning with sportsman in the afternoon.
I got a great start and going into the third corner in 2nd the leadder went wide i was leading! i pulled a gap strait away but dropped it half way round the first lap. Si cought me up but then dropped it himself! i led for a lap and a half before si got past. i was then having a good race with jamie for 2nd after a hour when i cought si back up and was leading again! Me and jamie were battling for the lead and pitted at the same time. he got out of the pits before me and i set about catching him only to find him stopped with a snapped footrest which was a shame becouse we were having a great race. Si got back past me again and pulled a gap so i ended up with another 2nd!
I hope to get my first win of 08 at the gbxc at monmouth next weekend and will also be riding xmoor on the monday.
Thanks to all of my sponsers; GAS GAS UK, TALON, K4OFFROAD, KRIEGA, SCEC STEVE PLAIN SUSPENSION AND RUSH RACING. I have also now gained the help of for more info please go to my sponsers page
i have put some pics from brewbs on the gallery. there are also some on http://www.PHOTOECLIPSE.CO.UK
The second round of the BEC was last weekend in snowy Scotland. The lap was 65 mile lap with 2 awesome special tests making probably the best event i have rode.
Day 1 started ok with the enduro test but 2 crashes in the sand querry of the mx test - the second of which saw me facing the wrong way struggling to start the bike -.left me playin catch up. luckily there was a tight check which most lost time on but i stayed clean which moved me to 7th expert and 2nd in the E2 class
Day 2 went a lot smoother with just one lap and no crashing!! I finished 2nd expert - behind day 1 winner Derek Little - and 1st E2 rider.
The next round is in August and I have lots of events before then to help me up my game. I'd like to thank my sponsors - GAS GAS UK, TALON, KRIEGA, K4OFFROAD, SCEC. STEVE PLAIN SUSPENSION AND RUSH RACING. Id also like to thank everyone who helped me during the weekend expesially Rob Sartin. Also the Padgett family, Danny Hall, Stan Watt, the Edmondsons and especially my family!!!

I rode 2 H&H's this weekend and finished 2nd at both. on saturday i rode a ORE event and sunday raced SCEC at inside park. the idea was to practice towards 2-day bec events.
Saturdays race started well as i got the holeshot but made a mistake and jamie paget slipped past. he pulled about 1 1/2 minutes in the first 2 laps as i was struggling to get to grips with the super slick (after the quads had pollished it) and super fast track. i got faster as the race went on but i couldnt real jamie in.
Sundays race was on the awsome inside park track run by southern counties enduro club. i got a got start and was leading on the first lap followed by andy frost - who was determined to win his last scec event before going to live in australia - and mark cornick. mark toke the lead on the 2nd lap but took a fall. me and andy were racing through the back markers on lap 2 &3 but i had a big crash when i hit a log overtaking a slower rider. this dropped me some time and i couldnt catch andy as he was on a mission and was quiker than me through the traffic. this was my 5th second place in a row and im getting a bit fed up with it now!!! so i will be out to change things at round 2 of the bec in scotland.

Diss mcc ran round 1 of the bec in brandon forest. the muntjac runs a short 20 mile lap ridden 5 times. the first 2 laps are slack and both include a timed special test. the last 3 didn't have a test but the check times got tighter.
the day started good when i won the experts first test by 3 seconds over gavin houson. the second test didnt go quite so well as i was 9 seconds slower than lap 1. i was dissapointed becouse over the 2 tests gavin beat me by 0.9 seconds!!. The last 3 laps went 49 - 47 - 44 minutes. On the third lap i rode at a fast but steady pace and completed the check in 44 minutes so i knew id be ok for the last lap. the last 2 laps went without problems and i ended the day 2nd expert and 1st e2 class rider.
Im now really lookin forward to round 2 in scotland next month. id like to thanks everone who has helped me so far this year especially my family and my sponsers - gas gas uk, talon, kriega k4 offroad and rush racing. for more info please go to my sponser page.

My good start to the season continued with 2nd in the expert class at the all new great brish cross country championship at matchams. conditions were dry. at the start of the 2hr 45mins race it was smooth but got alot rougher during the race.
I got a rubbish start but quickly worked my way through the pack on lap 1. On lap 2&3 i was part of a 4 way battle for 2nd in the experts but leader Mark roberts had put a lead after getting a good start. By the hour mark i had worked my way into the lead of the experts and was pulling a gap.My pitstop went well but just before the 2hr point i noticed fuel leaking from the cap. I stopped and tryed to fix it. i had to stop to top up and replace the cap. (thanks to rob wrayford for letting me borrow his!!!). i lost the lead and 2 minutes to mark roberts.
Im pleased with my riding and my fitness and im really looking forwards to the first round of the bec this coming weekend when i will be aiming to at least repeat todays result.
id like to thank all of my sponsers - Gas Gas, k4offroad, kriega, talon (espesially rob sartin who has helped so much with my fitness and my diet), and rush racing - for more info go to the sponsers page
My best results so far this year has come at dorset police mccs H&H event at bovington. the track was awsome and it was a great event being well organised as allways.
I got a rubbish start made worse by stalling on the second corner! I was left with a race through the championship pack on the first lap. i started lap 2 in 3rd a couple of minutes behind leader rob pollard(winner of the expert class at the tough one by 3laps!!!) and local lad mark cornick. by lap 3 i was up to 2nd and setting a steady pace by not able to reel in Rob. i made a mistake by piiting a lap early at 1.15 hours in rather than the normall time of a hour and a half due to a timing mistake. I therfore had to make a splash and dash at the start of the last lap.
I finished second behind rob pollard. third was 07 bec expert champ jamie paget who broke two metatarsals during the race! get well soon jamie!!!.
My next event is future racings mx at matchams park this coming weekend. id like to thank all of my sponsers - k4offroad, kriega, talon, gasgas uk and rush racing - for more info go to the sponsers
This years tough one was awsome as always. the track was the toughest yet ...
"More tempting challenges
Organizers slipped a few more features into this year's challenge and along with the quarry terrain, riders were confronted with more log sections, lorry beds, definitely more rocks and hills and downhill sections described as "just plain scary". Adding to the attractiveness of the event, spectators who braved the weather and the mud got to see more of their heroes on the circuit because entry was limited to 50 riders"
We had a nightmare just getting to the event! at 9.30 pm 10 minutes from our b+b dads van broke down! we had to be towed back home till 3am. we quickly swapped to another van before headin back up. we arrived at 8am. i managed to grab under 2 hours sleep during the night so wasent best prepared for the event!! i didnt get the best of starts and struggled to up the pace during the race and rode like a numpty!. although i managed to finish im very dissapionted with my result so i will be back next year with a point to prove!!

xmoor ran another great event at the weekend. the rain made it nice and slippy! i got my best start this year with 2nd behind top bec rider tim lewis but as we dropped into the first bog tim opened 'er up rosting my gogles completly cousing me to crash and lose a few places and alot of time. by the end of lap 1 i was up to 3rd. tim was way out in front and 2nd was BEC expert champ jamie paget. a few minutes in front of me. i managed to pick the pace up during the race and with 2 laps to go i cought jamie up and the race was on!! positons were the same at end of lap 8 but on the last lap (9) i managed to pass jamie and pull away for 2nd.
Im really pleased with the race as got faster as it went and defently improved my wet ridin. my traning for 08 started last month and my fitness is slowly gettin better. although i was pretty knackered at the end!!!
REPORT, PICS(INC 1 OF ME) AND REPORT ON WWW.DIRTYBIKING.CO.UK
my best result of the year came at the last big meeting where i finshed 44th out of 1140 at weston beach race! i mannaged to get onto the first row behind the barriers. just when the bloke signaled 5 minutes before the start i took my goggles off when all of a sudden the official let the fence i quickly chucked em on and started the gasser up and fired it down the straight but id lost loads of places and the ques were allready big at the first dune. by the end of the first lap i was about 200th so i kept on it but rode smooth all race. unfortunatly they cut the race short by 1/2 an hour due to the safety problems with the huge ques on the bridge dune. i dont know why they got stuck on the dune but they had to cut the track into the spectators. i finished 44th which i was really pleased with as my aim was top 50.
This weekend im riding scec's events at milton abbas
I have put pics online from various events in the new gallery.
The Natterjack was the final round of the bec and i was hoping for a good end to the season.
DAY1; The times were really slack so it was all down to the tests. My day was ruined by crashes on the tests and struggling to get on the pace.
DAY2; Again the checks were slack. i managed a couple of quick times but was still not as quick as i hoped on others. ended day 2 16th expert and 8th E2.
I will be putting some pics in the gallery from bob mullins (www.enduronews.com) and AN from mxtrax.co.uk.
I was too slow on this test but upped the pace slightly second time round with a top 15 expert time. the checks were dry even the Waun although if you go offline you could get cought out as i found out gettin stuck and losin some time and ending up 32nd expert

I am very please to say that i have picked up a new sponsor. Kriega will be sponsering me with bumbags and hydration packs for this year. Kriegas products are awsome and you will not find better quility products than these. to check out there range go to www.kriega.com
I am going for a x-ray on my foot on july the 3rd. the results of this will determine whether the break has healed strong enough to ride round 1 (hafren) of the bec of if i have to wait till round 2 (tywi) to make my comeback.
i finished 5th at the xmor hare + hounds whuch wasent a bad result but could have been better if i wasents ladt of the start. after the first two laps i got some clear air and put consistant fast laps in till the end of the race moving up the results slowly. the course was the best i rode this year all in flowing but technical woodland.
This weekend ill be ridin scecs event at shilingstone. photos from xmoor and camel vale should be online tomorrow (sat)
THe first ig enduro of the year was held last weekend. my test times wer not to bad but unfortunatly i lost 2 munites on the tight check after falling off

THe tough one was bigger and better this year. the whole event was awsome but unfortunatly didn't go to well for me. I was hoping for a good result 4 my first event on K4OFFROAD GAS GAS EC125 and i was well prepared with my trail tech lights. i didnt get a good start and was then stuck at the back of the que on the muddy section just after the start. i gained places through the the 1st lap until disaster struck after the rocks on lap 2. i went round a corner and a stump jammed in the sprocket making the chain jump off. it took 45 minutes and 3 lost laps to replace it. i got going again in the dark and finished 22nd xpert.
Day 2 at the naterjack turned into a major storm and monsoon. The results are not yet correct but a short report and lots of pics are at enduronews.com. Theres also lots of pics of the rain at dirtybiking.co.uk. i will put pics of me online when i get them. heres one of cris hockey surfing.

17 year old K4OFFROAD kawasaki kx125 rider Bradley king took his first BEC win at the rhayader enduro in the clubman class. Wining day won by just under 10 seconds. falling and losing alot of time on the last test on day 2 resulted in brad finishing day 2 in 2nd but still gave him the premier award for the weekend.
"i stuggled to get into a rythem on the test but stll managed to win day 1 by 10 seconds. On the first test of day 2 i was ridin bad, and was missing ruts etc but just before the start of the 2nd test i was told that i won the first test by 7seconds. I Finally started to feel smooth on the last test when i dropped it on a corner. I lost alot of time becouse i was trapped under the bike and had to push me way out. i ended up losing day 2 by 3seconds. The checks were good, i managed to clean them with quite a bit of time to spare so that was pleasing. I really enjoyed the event and im looking forward to the natterjack and hoping for another good result before moving to the experts next year"
Photos will be online when the arrive. go to enduronews.com for full event report
